1) What are the intended goals and objectives of the United States National Park
Service?
Taking care of the national parks and helping Americans take care of their communities.
2) In general, do the U.S. National Parks achieve their stated objectives?
No, because while letting people visit these national parks it becomes ruined by litter and smoke from cars.
3) Provide a few examples of successes achieved by the Park Service AND examples of
failures.
Pros
-Collecting a fee provides revenue to improve the park
- Eradicates an invasive weed that threatens the area
-establishing walking tracks enables areas to be enjoyed without causing damage to fragile soil.
Cons
- Those who are intent upon causing harm are not actually kept out
- the public land is being restricted to those who pay, violating the idea of the park being “for all”
