Hi, my name is Niamaka pope. I'm sixteen and attend Westlake high school. I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'm the oldest of three siblings (two girls and one boy). After high school i plan to move to California and attend USC.
The environmental crisis that influenced my concern with the natural world and environmental education was the sinkhole in Florida. i was influenced by this because it seemed that a lot of these things have started happening in Florida. Also this influenced me because I visit Florida every summer and that could have been me trapped in a sink hole. after hearing about the sinkhole I wanted to know how this could happen. it turned out that Florida used to be all swamp water, but then the government took the water from the swamps and built land on top this land eventually was used to build building and houses over. we re now starting to see the effect of building things on this land.
This deals with me personally because I like visiting Florida over the summer and if things keep going as they are their may not be anything left of Florida to visit.
That is actually one of the best environmental autobiographies that I have read. Great job connecting real life experiences! :)
