Household Items That Impact the Environment

I have multiple things in my house that could impact the environment but I'm only going to list the top 5

1) My family buys a 24 pack of water bottles about twice a week. Which isn't good considering that we are wasting necessary resources. I believe we can fix this problem in my house by buying reusable Eco-friendly water bottles

2) Because of the number of people in my house dirty clothing piles up quickly which causes my house to wash clothing multiple times during the week. washing clothes that often wastes lots of water causing droughts. An easy way to fix this problem would be by scheduling a day out of the week to wash clothing and only wash clothes that day.

3) I recently noticed that my family including me runs the water while brushing their teeth, even when it is not necessary to run the water. Water is a valuable resource that should not  be wasted by running the water when it is not needed. This problem out of the five listed has to be the easiest to fix, the only thing i have to do is turn the knob and the water will turn off.

4) Another issue in my house is lights. The lights in my house are basically on 24/7. As a mater of fact the lights are on while I'm typing this. Lights don't need to be on all the time because its not only wasting energy but it also causes your electric bill to be really high. Imagine the world being in complete darkness, doesn't sound so good does it ? Well its sure to happen if you don't turn the lights off when their not needed.

5) The last thing that i think should be added to this post has to deal with outlets. I get that eventually your going to have to charge your phone, but is it really necessary to have your phone charger plugged into the outlet when it isn't plugged up to your phone. I didn't think so. The energy your wasting on charging an unplugged phone could be used on important things like charging a plugged phone. A quick fix to this problem is to not only unplug the charger from your phone but to also unplug the charger from the wall as soon as it hits 100%
